1. Introduction

Welcome to Sidekick the Wingman ("Sidekick," "we," "our," or "us"), owned and operated by Sidekick Technology Pty Ltd in Australia. This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Sidekick mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and adhering to global standards.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: When you authenticate via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and secure authentication tokens via our backend provider (Supabase).
  • User-Generated Uploads: To provide our core AI analysis, you may upload screenshots of dating profiles or chat logs. You are strictly responsible for redacting highly sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of third parties before uploading.
  • Device & Analytics Data: We collect non-identifying information, including device type, operating system, crash logs, and advertising identifiers, to optimize app performance and serve rewarded advertisements.

3. Device Permissions

  • Photo Library: We request read-only access to your device's photo library exclusively to allow you to select and upload screenshots for AI analysis. We do not scan, collect, or access any photos that you do not explicitly select.
  • Push Notifications: With your consent, we send notifications regarding account alerts, subscription updates, and promotional content. You may revoke this permission at any time via your device settings.

4. Third-Party Data Processing

We do not sell your personal data. We securely share data with essential third-party service providers to operate the App:

  • Google Gemini API: Your uploaded text and screenshots are processed by Google's enterprise AI to generate advice. We utilize enterprise-grade API agreements, meaning your data is not used by Google to train public, generalized AI models.
  • Supabase: Utilized for secure, encrypted database hosting and user authentication.
  • Ad Networks: To facilitate the "Watch Ad for 1 Free Scan" feature, we partner with mobile ad networks that may utilize non-personal device identifiers to serve relevant ads.
  • Apple App Store & Google Play: Financial data is handled entirely by Apple and Google. We do not collect or store your credit card information.

5. Data Retention, Auto-Deletion & Your Rights

We operate on a principle of strict data minimization:

  • 24-Hour Auto-Deletion (Recommended): Sidekick features an optional "Auto-Delete" toggle within the app settings. When activated, all screenshots, chat scans, and AI-generated advice associated with your account will be permanently and automatically deleted from our active databases within 24 hours of creation.
  • Manual Deletion: If you do not utilize the Auto-Delete toggle, you retain the ability to manually delete individual scans or clear your entire history at any time within the app.
  • Account Termination: You may permanently delete your account and all associated data via the "Delete Account" button in the app settings.
  • System Backups: For disaster recovery purposes, deleted data may temporarily reside in encrypted, inaccessible server backups for up to 30 days before being permanently overwritten by our hosting providers.
